SEAT and Cupra Key Services — The VAG Group Advantage

SEAT sits firmly within the Volkswagen Group alongside VW, Audi, Skŏda and Porsche. Every SEAT model uses the same VAG IMMO architecture as the equivalent VW — a SEAT Ibiza MK5 uses the same platform generation as a Volkswagen Polo MK6, and a SEAT Leon MK4 is mechanically identical to a Golf MK8 from an IMMO perspective. This means VVDI2, the definitive VAG tool, covers every SEAT model on every platform without exception and without year limits. Platform knowledge gained on thousands of VW and Audi jobs transfers directly to every SEAT callout.

Ibiza flip-key housing damage is the most common SEAT repair in Central Scotland. The MK4 and MK5 Ibiza flip-key shell cracks at the pivot hinge — usually from keyring weight stress or being dropped. The internal transponder chip and remote circuit are typically undamaged; it is purely the housing that fails. I carry replacement shells for common SEAT flip-key types, transfer the working internals and reprogram via VVDI2. The repair takes 20–30 minutes and avoids an unnecessary full key replacement. Cupra coverage is increasingly relevant as the performance sub-brand grows. Cupra Formentor, Born, Leon and Ateca all use the identical VAG IMMO platform as their SEAT equivalents. VVDI2 covers all Cupra models without any distinction. For the Cupra Born — the EV variant — the same MEB electric platform used in the VW ID.3 is covered for key programming.
