Remote Key Programming
Central Scotland
Proximity entry, keyless go and push-start systems reprogrammed at your location. Both the wireless remote and transponder functions confirmed working before I leave. All 35 makes covered across Central Scotland.

Remote Programming vs Key Programming — Two Separate Systems
A modern car key contains two independent electronic systems. The first is the transponder — a chip that communicates with the immobiliser to allow the engine to start. The second is the remote — a radio-frequency transmitter that sends signals to the central locking receiver when you press lock, unlock or boot release. These systems operate on different frequencies and are programmed through different channels. It is entirely possible to have a key that starts the car (working transponder) but does not operate the remote locking — and vice versa.
Remote programming specifically addresses the wireless functions: locking, unlocking, boot release, proximity entry, keyless go and push-button start. For standard remotes, programming is typically carried out via a key-in-ignition sequence or OBD connection depending on the make. For proximity systems — where the key is never physically inserted and the car unlocks as you approach — OBD programming is always required, using the specific machine matched to your vehicle’s platform. I carry Smart Pro for Ford and Jaguar Land Rover, Xhorse VVDI2 for all VAG Group, ACDP for BMW and Mini, Zedfull Plus for Renault and Mercedes, and Autel IM608 for a broad range of other makes. Thatcham Research certifies the wireless entry systems on all the vehicles I work on and publishes data on their security rating.
One important scenario: if a key fob battery has completely discharged on certain vehicle platforms, the remote can lose its programming association with the car when the battery is eventually replaced. Fitting a new battery restores power but not the lost pairing. This is often the explanation when a customer has already changed the fob battery but the remote still does not work. I diagnose which scenario applies on-site and reprogram if needed in the same visit.
How Remote Key Programming Works
Four steps from your call to driving away. Completed at your location in a single visit.
Call & confirm
Call 07949 827 795 or WhatsApp with your vehicle details and location. I confirm whether I can help, give you a realistic arrival time, and a price before I set off.
Kam travels to you
I travel directly to your location — home, work, car park or roadside. All equipment is in the van. No need to arrange recovery or travel to a workshop.
Remote programmed via OBD or key sequence
Using the correct machine for your make and platform, I programme the remote functions — lock, unlock, proximity, push-start — via OBD. For standard transponder programming, both systems are addressed in the same visit.
Test before leaving
I verify everything works correctly before leaving your location: all remote buttons confirmed, proximity unlock range tested, push-start function confirmed (where applicable), central locking responds correctly. I don’t leave until you confirm you’re happy.

Transparent Pricing — No Surprises
What Affects the Price
Remote programming pricing depends on your make, platform generation and the type of remote involved. Standard single-button remotes are quicker than proximity push-start systems. Where remote and transponder programming are both required, both are carried out in the same visit. Price confirmed before I travel.
Price Confirmed Before I Travel
I give a price indication when you call — before I set off from Falkirk. What I quote on the phone is what you pay. No additional charges are added on arrival.
vs Main Dealer
Dealers typically charge £250–£450+ and require the vehicle to be towed to their workshop first. I attend your location and complete the job in a single visit — almost always at a lower total cost.
